Camera access is mandatory during the in-person verification (IPV) step of the KYC process on Grip Invest. Without it, an error will occur.
For Google Chrome, camera access can be enabled via the site information (lock symbol) or through Privacy and Security settings in Chrome's menu.
On iOS, go to Privacy settings, locate the app under Camera settings, and enable camera access for the app used during IPV.
For Android, adjust camera settings through Site Settings to ensure it is set to ‘Ask First,’ with variations based on the device.
Use Google Chrome for the best IPV experience, and clear cache/cookies if issues persist. Contact support for further assistance.
It is mandatory that access to the camera is allowed during the in-person verification(IPV) step while completing the KYC process on Grip Invest. If the access to the camera is not allowed, you will get an error as shown below:

What are common causes if the camera still doesn’t activate despite permissions being correct?
Possible causes include browser or app cache not being cleared, outdated browser/app versions, conflicting browser extensions such as ad blockers, device privacy settings blocking the camera globally, or antivirus/firewall restrictions. Poor internet connectivity or insufficient lighting may also interfere with liveness verification.
How do different browsers and OS versions impact the liveness-verification camera setup?
Some browsers may restrict camera access differently. Older versions of Safari or Chrome may not support required APIs, while certain mobile OS versions may require users to select “allow access always” instead of “during use.” Updating the browser or app and explicitly granting permissions is recommended.
What should a user do if their mobile device camera is blocked by corporate-device policy?
Users should switch to a personal device not restricted by corporate security policies or contact their IT department to temporarily enable camera access. Corporate-managed devices may block camera APIs required for KYC liveness verification.
Are there security or privacy implications when giving camera access during KYC?
Yes. Users should ensure they are using the official secure website or app before granting camera access. Check for HTTPS security, trusted certificates, official domains, and review the privacy policy to understand how facial or video data will be stored and used.
What steps should international users (outside India) take if the local camera permission rules differ?
International users should verify their regional device permission settings, ensure compatibility with supported browsers/apps, and confirm that the KYC provider supports their country. Some users may also need to comply with additional local telecom or data regulations.
How can users test their device setup before starting the actual KYC liveness process?
Users can test their camera using the device camera app or an online webcam testing page. They should also verify permissions in the same browser/app intended for KYC and use any demo or “check your device” feature provided by the platform before starting the actual verification process.
